Clinical Corner
Hello,
To those whom I have not met, my name is Victoria and I am a Speech and Language Therapist working at the Tower School.
I have worked for the NHS, Education, Communication charities and privately across London and Greater London. I have a particular interest in autism and the SCERTS framework.
The SCERTS® Model is a research-based educational approach and multidisciplinary framework that directly addresses the core challenges faced by children and persons with autism and related disabilities, and their families. SCERTS® focuses on building competence in Social Communication (how we interact with others), Emotional Regulation (how we manage our sensory needs and our emotions) and Transactional Support (how family and staff set up the environment and their interaction styles) as the highest priorities that must be addressed in any program, and is applicable for individuals with a wide range of abilities and ages across home, school and community settings.
