Home Events & Celebrations PFA Trip to Local Pottery Painting Café
As part of our Preparation for Adulthood session last week, Martello and Obelisk classes enjoyed a fantastic trip to a local pottery painting café.
The visit gave pupils the opportunity to explore creativity, decision-making, and independence in a relaxed, local setting. Each pupil chose a piece of pottery, planned their own design, and then got started painting, using a range of colours and techniques to bring their ideas to life.
Throughout the trip, pupils practised important life skills including communicating with staff, making independent choices, managing time, and following instructions. They also had the chance to observe the staff at work and reflect on what skills are needed in a customer-facing, creative environment.
It was a fun and valuable experience that supported our wider goal of building confidence, independence, and workplace awareness as part of Preparation for Adulthood.
