Fantastic PSHE Work

This week, Spire completed a lesson on a topic that they had requested – Tourette’s Syndrome. They were excited to see a member of their own class in the awareness video that we watched and we had some great group discussions around the topic. Many then chose to take the quiz to show how much they had learned. They have already started requesting more awareness lessons for PSHE; what amazing subject engagement Spire!

In KS4 PSHE, we have been exploring various pieces of legislation around important issues such as online activity, illegal substances and relationships. The pupils have approached these topics with maturity and demonstrated an impressive knowledge about how to stay safe online.

KS5 have built further on these topics, including a fantastic debate about the warning signs of coercive control in relationships. Obelisk worked together to decide whether something was a red flag, a green flag or an amber flag. They discussed how it is often dependent on the relationship, giving clear examples of when it could be either.
