This week has seen the return of the Tower School scientists. Students have been working on revision techniques, global warming, GM crops, and types of radiation. It has been so lovely to have been greeted by so many smiling faces.
Lantern started to create their planet, the students have been busy ripping paper and thinking about what they would like to include on their planet. Well done to Lantern. Scientist of the week goes to Lantern, for working hard. Well done to Lantern. Question of the week ‘can we go and live on Jupiter?’
Citadel researched global warming and how it impacts on the Earth. The class found out and shared some interesting facts. Well done to Citadel. Scientist of the week goes to Citadel for working well as a class. Well done to Citadel. Question of the week ‘why is it a problem if the planet warms up?’
Steeple revised sexual and asexual reproduction. The class showed maturity and were able to answer all questions. Well done to Steeple. Scientist of the week goes to Steeple. Well done, Steeple. Question of the week ‘can species reproduce both sexually and asexually?’
Lighthouse worked on the different types of radiation. The class explored alpha, beta and gamma radiation. Well done to Lighthouse. Scientist of the week goes to Brandon for working hard. Well done to Brandon. Question of the week ‘how safe is it to stand in a room full of gamma radiation?’
Obelisk have started their revision preparation ready for their examinations in the Summer term. The students have been exploring how to revise and the different revision techniques that they can use. Well done to Obelisk for working hard. Scientist of the week goes to Obelisk, for approaching the revision sessions with maturity and determination. Well done to Obelisk. Question of the week ‘can you recall information with smells?’
Spire and Martello are exploring genetic engineering. The students read an article about the sight saving surgery that used gene therapy. Well done to Martello and Spire for understanding the article and the fascinating facts learned. Scientist of the week goes to
