Home Events & Celebrations A Trip to Westfield for PFA
As part of our Preparation for Adulthood trip curriculum, pupils from Martello and Obelisk visited Westfield Stratford last Friday. The group showed fantastic confidence as they navigated a very busy public space filled with Christmas shoppers, demonstrating their growing independence and resilience.
A few weeks earlier, during our visit to Slice (a pizza restaurant in Epping) , we noticed their Charity Toy Drive poster. This inspired us to use last week’s trip as an opportunity to choose a few toys to contribute to their collection. When we returned to Slice to drop off the toys, the staff spoke warmly about our previous visit and were genuinely touched by the pupils’ thoughtful gesture.
The restaurant has since shared all the donated toys with Barnardo’s, a wonderful example of our pupils making a positive impact in the local community. We are incredibly proud of their kindness, maturity and community spirit.
