Preparation for Adulthood

Last Friday, as part of our Preparation for Adulthood curriculum, pupils from Obelisk and Martello enjoyed an enriching visit to The Lightroom in King’s Cross. To support growing independence and travel confidence, half travelled via the London Underground while the others went by minibus.At The Lightroom, pupils were immersed in the Prehistoric Planet exhibition, a digital experience that brings to life ancient landscapes and prehistoric creatures. The group engaged brilliantly throughout the hour, sharing their opinions, asking thoughtful questions and interacting with the visuals (especially when the floor turned into lava!). After the exhibition, we explored Coal Drops Yard and the wider King’s Cross area. Pupils enjoyed visiting the shops and public spaces, observing how a major London station operates and making real‑world connections to their travel and independence skills. We are incredibly proud to see our pupils continuing to build their confidence, independence, travel skills, and community engagement. We can’t wait to update you again next week!
