Jack Petchey at The Tower School

In the summer of 2024, The Tower School proudly became part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, a local initiative celebrated across schools in Essex and London. This scheme enables us to acknowledge and reward outstanding young individuals within our school community, offering them a £300 grant to benefit the school.

Annual Nominations

Each year, The Tower School nominates six exceptional pupils for a range of achievements. During the autumn term, we were delighted to announce two winners:

• CO: Recognised for his remarkable personal growth and active involvement in the school community, including supporting the Tuck Shop and leading tours for visitors.
• JW: Celebrated for his contributions to the school community through his work with the Tuck Shop, participation in the Student Council, and leading visitor tours.

Both pupils received their awards and were entrusted with a £300 grant to invest in the school. CO chose to enhance our new basketball team by purchasing basketballs and hoops, while JW opted to enrich the music department with a new electronic keyboard.

Additionally, in September, we welcomed Jeff and Jim, our school turtles, made possible by Jack Petchey’s Summer grant.

Celebration and Recognition

All award recipients are invited to an annual ceremony, joining other local schools to celebrate their achievements together.
