The Tower School Student Council

At The Tower School, we place significant emphasis on fostering pupil voice, ensuring that all pupils feel heard and valued in our community. Our Inclusion Team diligently oversees the Student Council, which serves as a vital platform for pupils to share their perspectives and contribute to our school’s decision-making processes.

Student Council Structure

  • Bi-Weekly Meetings: The Student Council meets every two weeks, providing regular opportunities for pupils to discuss their ideas and concerns
  • Class Representatives: Pupils are encouraged to apply for the role of class representative, ensuring that diverse viewpoints from different classes and backgrounds are included. This process promotes a democratic and inclusive environment where every pupil has the chance to participate

Impact and Communication

  • Diverse Perspectives: By involving representatives from various classes, we ensure that a broad spectrum of opinions and ideas is considered, enriching our school’s culture and approach.
  • Engagement with Senior Leadership: The outcomes and insights from Student Council meetings are shared with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This ensures that pupil feedback is not only heard but also actively considered in decision-making processes, leading to meaningful actions and changes within the school.

Benefits

  • Empowerment: Pupils gain a sense of empowerment and responsibility, knowing that their voices can influence the school environment.
  • Skill Development: Participation in the Student Council helps pupils develop essential skills such as leadership, communication, and collaboration.

By maintaining this robust framework for pupil voice, The Tower School continues to nurture an inclusive and responsive educational environment.
