Excellent English Work

Lighthouse and Steeple have been completing descriptive writing work this term. This week they were learning how to effectively describe people and other living things in preparation for exam style questions. They have produced pages and pages of lovely writing and focused really well on the task. Well done!

This week, Turret started planning their own dystopian stories after studying extracts of George Orwell’s ‘1984’ this term. They became very creative with their character creations!

In Speaking, Listening and Communicating, we have spent the term understanding what communication looks like and how it is different for everyone. The pupils (and staff!) were shocked to find out that only 7% of our communication is verbal while the rest is non-verbal.

We have also started practising our presentation and public speaking skills – a big well done to Pagoda students who all successfully read out a piece of writing they had created in English. Amazing!
